A Champion for the People of Victoria at City Hall

Over the past several weeks, I’ve met with hardworking people from every corner of Victoria and across the South Island.

Artists, small business owners, workers, housing advocates, community organizers, neighbourhood leaders, frontline service providers and people working to bring new jobs, housing and opportunities to our region.

I’ve also listened to people living unhoused and those working every day to address our housing, addiction and mental-health crises.

And I keep hearing the same thing:

We have the people. We have the ideas. We have the energy and determination. What we need is a City Hall that works with us, not against us.

Too many good people feel they’re pushing uphill just to get something done. Too many community projects struggle to get through the door. Too many residents feel their voices aren’t being heard.

That needs to change.

My Pledge to You

I want to be a mayor who champions the people doing the work, not one who takes credit for it.

I’ll stand up for local workers and small businesses, for affordable housing and the people building it, for artists and community organizations, for our neighbourhoods, and for those working on the front lines of our toughest challenges.

I’ll work with our neighbours and partners across the South Island and Capital Regional District, including Indigenous Nations, local governments and community organizations, because our future is something we build together.

I won’t promise to have every answer. But I will promise to listen, show up, pick up the phone, open doors and bring people together to get things done.

City Hall should belong to the people of Victoria. Not political insiders, not special interests, not just those with the loudest voices or deepest pockets. All of us.

I believe the best ideas often come from the ground up, from people who live here, work here and care about their neighbours.

As mayor, my job won’t be to tell those people what they need. It will be to listen, back them up, remove barriers and help them succeed.

Victoria doesn’t need another four years of people feeling shut out of their own City Hall.

We need a mayor who trusts the people, brings neighbours together and fights to make government work for everyone.

I trust my neighbours. I believe in the people of Victoria. And I pledge to be your champion at City Hall.

We can do better, together.
